I am a highly dissatisfied client of Excel Book Writing in Chicago (since March 3, 2022). After nearly two years of dealing with this company, I have had enough. The book took three times the time they promised it would take to get published. They guaranteed 10,000 book sales in the first year (in writing) or money back in full. But now they claim that the salesman who wrote the contract no longer is with them so the guarantee is null. How can you trust a company that doesn’t honor its contracts? Instead, they built a standard website that went defunct because they wanted to sell me expensive services to keep it up. Without any marketing by them (even though I paid them for it), there were no book sales. They were also supposed to produce an audio book. After a year and a half they still have not completed the audio book. The project managers seldom responded to me and after endless requests to finish the audio book, they delayed, delayed, delayed. Yet they pride themselves by claiming that they meet client satisfaction. I constantly asked why my project was not seen as a priority given all of the delays. No response. After two years of patiently waiting to see results, I think that it is time to let the world know how bad they are. You are warned!

After seven months of frustration, Sophia Miller took over my project and she has been amazing with the editing. She is always available and most of all she listens and understands my needs.
My experience was great for two reasons. 1. A finished product that is beautiful and 2. Ethan Rogers who took over the project and brought it to fruition. The experience was not pleasant from the beginning. There were so many communication issues. Ethan was the only saving grace. It was he that stuck it out and helped me through all the issues.

My experience is and has been excellent.I have high praise for my 'handler,' Sophia Miller, and the website person, Alice Peters. They have stayed in contact regularly and made the process easy. Their staff of editors and designers are excellent are instrumental in making my book, One Thing After Another and Then..., a success. It lacks only final approval from me before it goes to press. My project manager, Mikhail, seems to be genuinely concerned about having my book be right. I think that's because he and the rest of his team believe in my book. We are in touch every week since this project started and if he says he's going to get back to you in a certain amount of time, he does. There have been a couple times where I've sent in something to have edited and then it comes back and there are other changes made. I don't know if that was just a mistake on somebody's part or not. There have been other times where I've reviewed my book and there are spacing issues, for example, which I think they could have caught and made right since there are a publishing company but on the other hand that might be a good thing because that way it leaves all the decisions up to me and when the final product comes out it was based on my decisions. But overall a very good experience
The publisher has stayed with me throughout the publishing process. Every chapter I send in is put in format and sent back to me for review. Every change I make is then corrected in the format and sent back to me for review. During my reviews, I always find something that I had missed before or want changed and there is never a problem. These guys are the best.
